Michael Meshkin, MD

Michael Meshkin, MD, specializes in hair restoration surgery at Meshkin Medical, which has locations in Newport Beach and Glendale, California. He was one of the first surgeons to meet all of the standards and requirements for board certification from the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) in 1997. Dr. Meshkin was also a diplomate of ABHRS from 1997 to 2020. 

Dr. Meshkin’s passion and dedication to the art of hair restoration surgery began in 1979 while attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and volunteering at a local plastic surgery clinic that performed hair transplant procedures. It captivated him that such a minor procedure could change a person’s entire self-image and outlook on life. 

This experience led him to pursue a career in the field of hair restoration so he could perfect the technique. Dr. Meshkin joined the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) and trained with pioneers in the field of hair restoration surgery. His training provided him the basis to develop expert-level skills in scalp reduction, flap surgery, scalp lifting, scalp expansion, scalp extension, hair transplantation, and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Meshkin is president and founder of the Cosmetic Hair Restoration Surgery Institute, one of the finest hair restoration surgery and hair loss treatment centers in the United States. He’s also an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).
